I. JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the CEO of Sun World Group, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is the Group’s operational leader, responsible for a broad cross section of operational responsibilities including:

  • Managing Daily Operations: Ensuring the smooth functioning of all operational aspects of the Parks, and for ensuring a high level of safety, service, efficiency, guest experience and business performance is maintained at all times.
  • Operating System: Building and maintaining the set of SOPs, standards and framework that govern the way that the Group’s Parks are operated.
  • New Projects: Leading the operational component of the design, development and setting up of new parks and projects.

II. JOB DESCRIPTION

Safety

Safety is Sun World’s top priority. The COO is the champion of safety and promotes an environment of international best practice and continuous improvement. Carefully monitors all matters that relate to the safety of Guests and Employees and the security of the Park and individuals, and ensure safety is built into every work process starting from the design stage. Work with the Group’s leaders, employees and stakeholders to proactively identify, assess and prioritize risks, and to implement suitable measures to avoid incidents. Review and investigate incidents when they do occur, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to ensure that incidents are not repeated.

Business Performance

The COO reviews the business performance of each Park on a periodic basis (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually). Understand trends and identify opportunities to improve the bottom line by both reducing unnecessary costs and exploiting revenue opportunities. Be acquainted with industry best practices and trends which can drive revenue or reduce costs. Recognize successes in Parks which can be extrapolated across the Group. Work with the Management team at each Park to implement practical measures to improve the business performance on an ongoing basis.

Service

The COO is required to regularly visit the Parks, review guest feedback and surveys to ensure that guest needs and expectations are well understood, shortcomings are identified, and to work with the Management team at each Park to implement practical strategies to continuously improve the level of service.

Show

The COO is responsible for ensuring the storyline and theme of each Park is respected and that the theatrical elements of the Parks are properly maintained and executed. The COO works with the Management team at each Park to implement strategies to improve the “WOW” at the Parks, and to ensure an international standard of presentation, appearance and cleanliness of the Parks is maintained at all times.

Efficiency

The COO works with each Park to optimize work processes, to ensure efficient utilization of resources, minimize waste, and to ensure Guests are served in the quickest possible time. Is familiar with industry trends and best practices which can be implemented to improve efficiency.

III. REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in related discipline;
  • Previous experience in a senior leadership role in the theme parks and attractions industry, preferably having managed multiple sites;
  • Possess a broad range of skills across multiple disciplines that relate to theme park operations (design, operations, safety, technical, F&B, retail, IT, Finance, etc);
  • Well connected to the international attractions industry, standards, trends and best practices;
  • Role model, hands-on, pragmatic;
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities;
  • Understanding of financial management and budgeting;
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and persuasion skills;
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team;
  • Demonstrated commitment to guest satisfaction and quality service.
